Double Denim

Melbourne’s favourite denim clad duo are Michelle Brasier (cast member of Shaun Micallef’s Mad As Hell, and Aunty Donna collaborator) and her partner in nonsense Laura Frew (Fringe Wives Club); collectively Double Denim. Since their debut show premiered in 2017, the pair have created three critically acclaimed touring shows that loosely follow the journey of two Millennial girls as they grow into women.

Double Denim

Two girls, one fabric. It’s a party in your pants and jacket. Double Denim is a kid’s party for grown ups.

Michelle Brasier and Laura Frew gift you an hour of absurd fun, high-energy silliness, 90s nostalgia and a lot of denim, direct from hit seasons at Melbourne Comedy Festival, Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Fringe and Sydney Comedy Festival.

Will there be Shania Twain? The answer is yes.

“It is, in short a blast” ★★★★ – Chortle

Adventure Show

Part safari party. Part murder mystery. All denim. Award-winning idiots, Michelle Brasier and Laura Frew bring you part two of the Double Denim journey, a celebratory cruise through the teenage years to avocado days.

This is every contiki tour that has ever gone wrong. This is Jumanji meets Absolutely Fabulous. No map, no shame, probably a little bit of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. Bring spare knickers, it’s going to be a very cool party.

A Very Fancy Dinner Party

This is Double Denim’s Peter Pan story. Having gone from party teens to obnoxious 20-somethings Michelle Brasier and Laura Frew have it all figured out. ‘Come Dine With Denim’ as two idiots dazzle you with their grown-up-ness / watch it all come crashing down in a rain of tomato sauce and shame. It’s time to grow up, get serious, get some hummus and settle down. Neither of these idiots wants to settle down. They do, however, want desperately to impress each other.
